My show tonight at Eskaton Gold River was in all honesty ‘MAGICAL’ for me.
Imagine this: an unknown such as myself with a room full of people enjoying every song, waiting through the breaks, listening and interacting with me, sharing and laughing, smiling, a few tears of joy and memories… My heart is so touched I can’t even express it. The images are etched on my mind forever as I hope I have touched the folks at Eskaton Gold River who joined me tonight. I finally got to experience that as a performer and I have found my goal: to have shows like that again, and again. If it means the only gigs I do are at retirement communities, so be it. I felt wanted, I felt like I connected and that what I sang and played gave joy to others. A couple in walker & wheelchair held hands during “Embraceable You”
It might sound corny, but it’s all true. I think it’s all the well wishes any prayers my way, just fantastic. They could throw eggs at me at Marylin’s, I won’t care. Gosh how I needed this. I admit, it would be really nice to sell some CDs and help my family’s bottom line but on a Spritual level, I hit a jackpot tonight.
Thank you Bobbie, Amber, Joe, Brenda and the wonderful residents and their loved ones who shared this evening with me at Eskaton Gold River. “It Was Just One of Those Things” is on my “MUST LEARN” list!
